The Village’s signature event, The Ox Roast & Homecoming Festival, is always held on Labor Day weekend.  The event kicks off on Friday night and goes all the way through the weekend, ending with a parade through downtown on Monday afternoon.

In 2010, the first annual Community Chili Cook-Off was held in the Village Park.  Residents competed to win prizes in various categories and there was trick-or-treating and games for kids.  This event will be held again in 2011 on Sunday, October 30th.

The Lawrence community came together to celebrate Christmas and the holiday season on the Lawrence Town Hall on December 15, 2010 with a visit from Santa, a potluck, live music and dancing and crafts and games for kids of all ages.

The first annual Heritage Day celebration was held on May 21st, 2011.  Heritage Day was founded to honor the community’s agricultural heritage, and to give special mention to several longstanding community businesses, including Sill Farms and Reynell’s Farm.  Also honored was the Lawrence Farmers’ market.

The summer season is busy in the Village with a multitude of entertaining events as well.  Lawrence Public Schools students coordinate a date in the early summer with the Village to organize the annual Community Pride Day.  In 2010, students from Lawrence High School helped cleanup the downtown and paint parking lines on the streets and sidewalks.  The Black River Radio Club hosts a Field Day in the park during the last weekend in June.  Farmers’ market usually kicks off mid-June and is held each Saturday until October.  A wide variety of seasonal produce, flowers and local craft vendors can be found in the Village park during the market, usually beginning around 9:00 a.m.
